What type of stairlift is best for my home?
A standard straight staircase takes a straight rail. Any turn, winder or intermediate landing requires a curved rail built for that staircase. Porch, deck and garage steps take an outdoor lift.
How long does installation take?
For a standard straight stairway, we survey and install on the same day. We work out whether that is possible during the phone survey first, and give you a preliminary quote before anyone drives out. Curved stairlifts are two visits, because the rail is manufactured to your staircase after the measure.
Do I get a price before someone comes to my home?
Yes. We do a phone survey first and give you a preliminary installed price, with no obligation. On a standard rail with no added options, that price does not change — and options like a folding rail or a power swivel seat are identified during the phone survey, so they are in the quote from the start. What does the warranty cover?
All major components of the Bruno stairlift — motor, gearbox, drivetrain and static rail system — are warranted against defects in material and workmanship for the lifetime of the stairlift, for as long as the original purchaser owns it. Most stairlift warranties cover major components for two to five years.
If something goes wrong, who pays for the service call?
For the first year, we do. If a Bruno manufacturing defect appears, our own technicians come out and fix it at no charge. After that, the lifetime warranty continues to cover the major components and you pay only for the visit.
Are stairlifts a good option for aging in place?
For a two-storey home, it is usually the single change that buys the most independence for the least disruption. No walls move, no bathroom is rebuilt, and the upstairs becomes usable again.
Do stairlifts work during power outages?
Yes. Modern stairlifts run on rechargeable batteries that charge at the parking points, so the lift keeps working through an outage.
Will you service a stairlift someone else installed?
Yes. We repair and service Bruno, Acorn and most major brands, whether or not we supplied the lift.
